Sell your IPv4 block

Have IPv4 address space you no longer need? The first step is to establish what the block is worth in the current market.

We assess the block, its history and the relevant market before approaching potential buyers.

What determines the value?

There is no single price for an IPv4 address. The value of your block can depend on prefix size, RIR region, legacy status, country and geolocation, previous announcements, blacklisting and abuse history, reputation, transfer conditions and current demand.

A clean block with a useful geolocation can attract a different price from a block with a problematic history. Our current IPv4 prices page provides a useful market reference, but it does not value an individual block.

Sell the whole block or split it?

If you hold a large range, this is one of the first commercial questions to consider. Large blocks currently trade at a lower price per address than small blocks: a /24 closes at $25.00 – $40.00 per address, a /16 at . On a /18 that gap is worth tens of thousands of dollars. Selling the whole range can mean a faster transaction and less administration. Splitting it can open the market to more buyers and potentially increase total proceeds. We can model both options for your block.

Legacy IPv4

Legacy address space has different characteristics from later RIR-allocated space. If your block is legacy, tell us before you decide how to sell it. It can affect both the market and the transfer process. See our guide to legacy IPv4.

Cleaning a block

A block’s history matters. Where appropriate, we can help identify reputation or blacklisting issues before the block is offered to buyers. The seller remains responsible for delivering a clean block. Buyers remain responsible for their own final due diligence.

How the sale works

You provide the block details and relevant history. We assess the market and agree how to approach potential buyers. There is no brokerage fee until a transaction closes. When a buyer is ready to proceed, we agree the terms in writing, open escrow and manage the registry transfer.

The buyer has three days for final due diligence after the transfer. Once that period is complete, escrow pays out. You can also compare a sale with leasing IPv4 or review transfer records.
